British Cycling Night Leading

British Cycling Night Leading

The British Cycling Night Leader Award is aimed at British Cycling (including SMBLA) accredited mountain bike leaders, with substantial night riding experience looking to lead groups after sundown.  Leaders retain their ability to lead in the same conditions as their primary mountain bike leadership award, extending their capacity to lead beyond the hours of daylight.

Award overview

The Night Leader Award has 1 day training course followed by a 1 day assessment, with a consolidation period in between.  The training course will be a mixture of classroom and outdoor practical sessions, will run from early afternoon through to approximately 9pm and will cover:

  • Leadership
  • Navigation
  • Trail side repairs
  • Equipment

The full remit of the award can be found here.
